Everything was in favour of Bekomold. Working conditions not found elsewhere. A highly supportive corporate culture. I wanted to learn, which I had the opportunity to do at Bekomold. In the 5 years I have been here, I have attended quite a few schools. Thanks to the company, I have become a machining technician, five-axis CNC programmer and CAD/CAM programmer.
As I successfully finished each school, my job responsibilities also changed. I started as a face miller operator and have been working as a CAM programmer for about six months now. In the beginning, I had to catch up in each job, as there are so many experienced colleagues in each field that I had to “climb up” to their level to be successful. It was not always easy, but I managed. It was worth it. I had to work on increasingly complex and very expensive parts or complete tools, with no room for error. It is not uncommon that I have to modify a complete, assembled tool. I have one chance, everything is up to me. If I mess up, the whole tool is ruined. It is a big responsibility for me, but also a challenge. I have to think about how to solve it, and I also have to be creative, because I can’t just start whatever way I like to. I got to my current position through an internal tender. As a CAM programmer, the experience I gained in manufacturing helps me a lot, as I have a good understanding of the production process, but even so, I sometimes go to the production floor and ask my former colleagues. Fortunately, me getting a new job has not changed our relationship.
I have learned a lot at Bekomold and continue to do so. I started as a machinist and now I program machine tools. I take pride in the fact that I do my job routinely, and the programmes I deliver are flawless, which I consider a success.
It also makes me feel good to know that one of my best friendships has developed from a work relationship. Sometimes we get together with the others after work, we go out for a beer or a night out, we have some shared experiences together outside of work as well.
Why would you recommend the company to others?
Because they care about you. They are always helpful, provide a good working environment, a professional background and support professional development. I can only say positive things about the company.
