I now work as a technologist, but I started my career as a machine operator. I came over from a large multinational company. Back there, I had felt for a while that I needed a change of environment, and at Bekomold they were looking for someone who was good at a certain kind of control task, which I was lucky enough to have experience in. I was attracted by the new challenge and the complexity of the work, which involved programming as well as machine operation. The icing on the cake is that Bekomold is engaged in custom manufacturing, which promises to be much more diverse than the previous mass production background I worked in. Even with a very positive reception and a supportive team, it was a challenge to learn the production process.<\/p>\n<p>It is a big responsibility when someone is entrusted to start working independently in their field. I managed to fit in well and do well professionally, and we could rely on each other in the team. Last August, I felt that after 20 years of experience as a machinist, I wanted to learn and try something related to the profession, but still different. Technology seemed to be the ideal solution for a change within the company, as it is an area where I can use my professional skills, and yet it requires a new approach. It was a very positive gesture from the company management to support my professional development and give me the opportunity to continue my career as a technologist. Everyone in the team is very helpful, from the team leader to my direct colleagues. This makes me feel very comfortable in this job. There have been and still are a lot of new things to learn; there is a lot of new information, and learning new programmes is still a real challenge for me, which the others help me with, fortunately. I want to meet the expectations, and I certainly do not want to disappoint. Over the years, I have had many memorable success stories at the company.<\/p>\n<p>I came here from a multinational company, where the atmosphere was very impersonal.
